GasIQ Optimator® is a two-stage pressure regulator for high-quality gas-shielded welding. The highly sensitive second stage of the GasIQ Optimator effectively eliminates the gas surge that occurs at the start of gas-shielded arc welding. Eliminating the start surge reduces shielding gas consumption in normal welding by up to 50%. Lower gas consumption means fewer cylinder changes, which increases effective welding time. In addition, weld quality improves because the risk of porosity is reduced. The two-stage regulation of the GasIQ Optimator keeps the gas flow very precise and steady, even as the cylinder pressure drops.
