Description
Tungsten electrode grinder SPARTUS D-99
– repeatable precision in TIG welding
SPARTUS D-99 is a benchtop tungsten electrode grinder designed for TIG welders who expect a stable arc, repeatable weld quality and full control over electrode preparation. Precise sharpening of the electrode tip helps improve arc ignition, reduce welding defects and extend the service life of tungsten electrodes.
Precise sharpening of tungsten electrodes for TIG welding
In TIG welding, the quality of electrode preparation has a direct impact on arc stability, weld pool control and the appearance of the weld. Manual sharpening on a standard grinder often results in an uneven angle, off-axis grinding and accidental overheating of the electrode. SPARTUS D-99 eliminates these problems by enabling precise, repeatable and controlled sharpening of tungsten electrodes. Thanks to its stable benchtop design and electrode guide, the user obtains an even grind adapted to the requirements of a specific TIG application.
Adjustable grinding angle 10–60° – matched to the process
The SPARTUS D-99 grinder allows the grinding angle to be set from 10° to 60°. This wide adjustment range makes it possible to adapt the electrode tip geometry to the material type, welding parameters and expected arc profile. In practice, this means greater control over the TIG process – both when precision welding thin components and during more demanding workshop or production applications.
Supports electrodes from 1.6 to 4.8mm
SPARTUS D-99 supports the most popular tungsten electrode diameters used in TIG welding: 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 / 4.0 / 4.8mm. This makes the device suitable for workstations where different material thicknesses and various welding current ranges are used. As standard, the tungsten electrode grinder is equipped with collets for all electrode diameters and a standard grinding wheel.
Adjustable speed 1000–8000 rpm
The device offers an adjustable rotational speed range of 1000–8000 rpm, allowing the grinder operation to be better matched to the electrode diameter, wheel type and expected sharpening result. The 150 W motor ensures stable operation, while speed control makes precise sharpening easier without excessive load on the electrode or grinding wheel.
Process repeatability thanks to the depth gauge
One of the key advantages of the SPARTUS D-99 is the depth gauge, which allows the correct electrode extension length to be set and helps maintain repeatable sharpening results. This is particularly important in serial production, shift work and wherever consistent electrode preparation quality matters. A repeatable grind means fewer random deviations, more predictable arc ignition and greater control over the weld.
Longer wheel service life and lower operating costs
SPARTUS D-99 is equipped with electrode position adjustment in relation to the grinding wheel surface. This allows the wheel surface to be used more evenly, extending its service life and reducing operating costs. It is a practical solution that will be especially appreciated by workshops and production plants where electrodes are sharpened regularly and the device is expected to operate efficiently over a long period of time.
Safer sharpening of tungsten electrodes
The closed grinding chamber, protective cover and electrode guide increase work safety compared to sharpening on open grinders. The device has been designed for sharpening non-consumable electrodes used in the TIG process.
Stable benchtop design for workshop and production use
Its compact dimensions and weight make the SPARTUS D-99 a compact yet stable device. The grinder works well as a permanent part of a TIG workstation – in a workshop, service department, maintenance department or production facility. It is a solution for users who want to replace random electrode sharpening with a professional, repeatable and safer tungsten preparation process.
