TH3P – what the letters mean: T = Tight-fitting or loose-fitting headpiece system > Means that this is a powered air protection system, i.e. a unit with motorised airflow where the headpiece can be tight-fitting or open H = Headpiece > The filter is designed for use with a helmet, hood, visor or other head-covering part as well (not, for example, with a half mask only). 3 = Protection class 3 (highest) > TH3 is the highest protection level a filter can achieve under EN 12941. It means that leakage from the surroundings into the wearer's breathing air is no more than 0.2%, the limit value set by the standard. > Corresponds to a Nominal Protection Factor of at least 500 (NPF 500). P = Particle filter > The filter removes solid and liquid particles from the breathing air, such as dust, fumes, mists and aerosols.
